مخفف کلمات انگلیسی (contractions)

مخفف کلمات انگلیسی که به آنها در این بخش خواهیم پرداخت فقط در زبان عامیانه بکار برده می شوند.

در این پست ما قصد داریم به رایج ترین سرواژه ها (Acronyms)، علائم اختصاری کلمات (Abbreviations) ومخفف کلمات انگلیسی (contractions) بپردازیم. خیلی از سرواژه ها و علائم اختصاری مثل شکل کامل شان تلفظ می شوند. مثلا شکل اختصاری etc (به معنای غیره) همانند شکل کاملش (et cetera) تلفظ می شود. ولی مخفف ها معمولا همانطور که نوشته می شوند تلفظ می شوند. یک فرق مهم دیگر بین این سه این است که تعداد زیادی از علائم اختصاری و سرواژه ها را می توان حتی در موقعیت های رسمی (در زبان نوشتاری و گفتاری) بکار برد ولی از مخفف کلمات انگلیسی نمی توان در موقعیت های رسمی استفاده کرد
