برای بدست آوردن اطلاعات دقیق درباره رفتار یک گروه مشخص و نه ارزیابی رفتار اشخاص در درون آن گروه، پژوهشگران و دانشمندان روشهای متفاوت تحقیقات رسمی را دنبال میکنند، که به آن لقب case study میدهند. روشهای مشخص تحقیقاتی جزوی از مهمترین پیام های پژوهشات علمی به شمار میروند و دانشمندان سالهای متوالی را صرف case study و تحقیق درباره مسائل پیچیده و در بعضی از شرایط حتی حیاتی میکنند.
مقوله case study در زبان انگلیسی از اهمیت به سزایی برخوردار است چرا که پس از گذراندن مراحل کلیدی هر case study به انگلیسی ترجمه میشود و اگر از کیفیت و علم بالفعل برخوردار باشد مراکز تحقیقاتی رسمی، نشریات علمی و کنفرانس های حرفه ای از پژوهشگران آن case study دعوت خواهند کرد و در آخر چنین مطالعاتی چاپ گردیده و به اشتراک دیگر پژوهشگران گذاشته خواهد شد.
موارد متفاوت تحقیقات case study در بسیاری از تخصص ها جایگاه کلیدی دارند و رشته ها و حرفه هایی مانند علوم سیاسی، جامعه شناسی، آموزش و پرورش، مددکاری، روانشناسی روی آنها به طور فزاینده ای حساب میکنند. منطقی که با استفاده از case study میتوان به آن رسید ساده است و بر این باور خود را استوار میکند که اگر مسئله ای برای این مورد معتبر باشد، پس برای همه موارد و یا بسیاری از آنها هم به همان شکل معتبر است.
جنبه منفی این منطق هم وجود دارد و از طریق case study کمک میکند بدانیم اگر مسئله ای برای این مورد مشخص معتبر نباشد پس برای موارد دیگر هم به همین صورت خواهد بود. به طور کلی کارآمد بودن هر case study مستقیما در ارتباط است با کلی گری و نگرشی که در ارتباط با مسائل عمومی اهمیت استراتژیک دارد.
The academic concept of case study through the English language
In order to gain information on the behavior of various factions or specific groups and not observation of behavior in individuals within such groups, researchers and academics follow certain methods of research, which are called Case Studies. Specific research methods are considered to be part of the most important foundations of scientific research and scientists spend many years on case studies that focus on complex issues, which are sometimes considered to be lifesaving. The concept of case study in the English language is important, since after crossing major stages, and only if they withhold scientific qualities, case studies can then be translated into English. Then, official research centers, scientific publications and professional conferences ask that certain case study’s researchers publish their information with them and then share those findings with other researchers and scientists. Various forms of case study research have a special place for certain professions and fields of study such as political science, sociology, education, social work, and psychology, which put a considerable amount of trust in them. The logic that can be reached through any case study is simple and argues on the basis that if something is valid for a certain case, then it is valid for all cases or at least for most of those cases. A negative approach in this logic also exists, which, through case studies, helps us understand that if a certain case is not valid for one, then it is not valid for all cases. In general, the usefulness of a case study is in direct relations with generalization and the approach that withholds considerable strategic value in relations to general social issues.
